Tasting Notes

Seabrook The Chairman Shiraz has been named in honour of Hamish's late grandfather - Douglas Seabrook. It is a dark crimson coloured wine showing rich and dense aromas of black pepper and fruitcake, with underlying hints of mocha and tobacco. Once opened, this wine rewards with its generosity and verbose personality. Blackberry, forest fruit and black pepper flavours make up the rich and dense palate, which is further supported by perfectly balanced acidity. The tactile tannins and beautifully integrated savouriness add complexity and balance to this dry red. This Victoria Shiraz can be enjoyed with beef, spicy food, or mature and hard cheeses.

Winemaking

Review

"95/5% Great Western/Barossa; planted mid-1980s; matured 26 months in 30% new French oak hogsheads. The fine-grained mineral structure of Great Western provides a wonderful lattice to support fruit of satsuma plum, blackberry and licorice depth. Accents of pepper declare regional distinctiveness, eloquently underlined with dark chocolate French oak."
